Why Skating?

Picture
Figure  skating is one of the most popular sports in the world today. In Canada more than six million people  lace up skates every year, and there are many winter celebrations that feature  figure skating. Through the inclusive Skate Canada endorsed programming we offer, we encourage people to become involved and stay involved for life. CanSkate is our entry-level program where basic skating skills are taught. From there, we offer a variety of figure skating programs from entry level to top competitive skating.

The Williams Lake Skating Club supports Skate Canada’s newly developed Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) program.  LTAD is designed to assist coaches, parents, volunteers and administrators create an environment that allows all skaters to fully develop and reach their goals within the sport.
